International SOS Achieved Global Certification to ISO 9001:2008

International SOS, the world’s leading medical and travel security services company, has achieved global certification to ISO 9001:2008.

ISO 9001 is a family of standards related to quality management systems and designed to help organisations ensure that they meet the needs of customers, shareholders and employees. The certification of compliance with ISO 9001 recognises that the policies, procedures and processes of International SOS enforce consistent quality in the services provided to their customers.
The certification applies across all International SOS business lines and service offerings, including its Assistance Centres, remote medical sites, clinics, medical supply chain services, and health and travel security services.

The ISO 9001:2008 certification was awarded by SQS (Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems) and is valid until September 2018.

In 2010, the Group began working with the Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS), to develop an external certification programme (based on independent and international standards) to validate the company’s internal quality management system. SQS was selected because of its specialist auditors with medical expertise.
International SOS has achieved compliance to a number of ISO standards as part of its continuous quality programme. It’s Assistance Centre in London was the first service platform in the world to be certified in the delivery of telehealth services (ISO/TS 13131:2014 ED1). The International SOS medical supply services facility in the United Kingdom achieved certification in compliance with ISO 14001:2004 in 2015.
